Tiny Dungeons – Update #1

Hey Everyone! I will be starting a new thing, once a week, where I summarize the story of a 2 hour game I play on Saturday with some friends of mine. Its called Tiny Dungeons. Its similar to DnD, in that its a ruled Fantasy role playing game, but its more simple and has less rules. So heres the speel! Let me know if you enjoy it!

First off, here are the Characters.

We currently have five people in the campaign, not including the gm
There’s Autumn, a 200-year-old Treefolk Alchemist
Terina, a young Elf Ranger girl
Goyl, a Grimghar (homebrew) Tinkerer
Mothiana, a Goblin Druid Skin-Changer,
and Me, Kehr, a Human Blind Monk who may or may not have a secret about his past, and his blind, yet seeing, eyes

We meet in a rather strange predicament. Terina and Autumn already know each other, and due to the vast racism of the Empire, Grimghar are thought of as Goblins and are automatically put in jail.
My character, seeing an opportunity to maybe earn a few coins, helps Goyl out and gets rid of the guards by saying that he’s my slave.
Which is perfectly acceptable apparently.
This draws the attention of Terina, Autumn, and a random Goblin girl with a giant panther to me and Goyl. We have a short scuffle, which draws the attention of the guards again.
And then abracabail, we are put in jail.

We escape after a Gnoll tribe attacks the town for some reason, killing the Mayor, whom Terina and Autumn were paid to protect.
A kind guard frees us, after seeing we haven’t done anything wrong, and my character learns that his daughter went missing.
As we hide from the Gnolls ravaging the town, my character decides to help out this Crowns Guard by following the Gnolls to their hideout. But not before I kill a Gnoll with a single, sneak attack hit.
The others decide to join me, Goyl owing me a favor, Terina and Autumn out of a job, and Mothiana just for the fun of it.
Then we end the session.

Next week, Terina and Autumn decide to stay behind and protect the town, maybe to earn some more gold, or maybe jumping into the Gnolls den isn’t such a good idea anymore.

Using Mothianas Panther, Merlin, we are able to track the Gnolls to a big hole in the ground.
After rolling well on sneak, Kehr finds a large pile of human corpses down a musty tunnel through the entrance.
Rolling for investigation, I am relieved to know that by the Crowns Guards description, the daughter is not dead, or at least not a corpse in this pile.
Kehr, Mothiana, and Goyl descend into the tunnel, as Merlin and the Crowns Guard, Alexander, stays at the top to keep guard.
Goyl sneaks further down the hall at Kehrs insistence and discovers that one of the most powerful creatures in the game is there, sitting on a pile of gold.

Let me just clarify something for you all. This is at the time our second session. We haven’t done anything yet! We are flipping around at level 1, and the GM introduces a flipping dragon here.

Then a Gnoll starts walking towards Goyl. Goyl backs up the tunnel again, hastily telling us that it’s coming.
We hide behind the pile of carcasses as it comes, it takes a piece of human meat, and brings it back to its supposed master, fearfully tossing it into the beast’s maw.

The next time it comes, we attack it, killing it before it can scream out an alarm

I skin it using a knife and drape it over Mothiana. She now smells, and, to a stupid monster, looks like a very short Gnoll. She goes in, feeds the dragon a piece of human flesh, and returns with slightly more information than before. Apparently one of the Gnolls had a scroll in its hand and was trying to read it, failing miserably of course. JMothiana took the scroll, and upon reading it, we found the name of the dragon mysteriously written on the scroll. It didn’t have any important information though.

Then, the big moment. Kehr sighs and stands up, boldly walking down the hallway.
Based on that scroll we had, the dragons name is Caphire. Whoever wrote it is a mystery, but as Kehr boldly walks down, he yells out:
“Caphire!”
The dragons head perks up, smoke curling up from its nostrils. The Gnolls grab their weapons and tense.

“Caphire! I have heard of thy greatness from afar, and I have come to witness thy majesty! Thou truly are a beast to be worshipped and given great gifts! But oh Caphire, why art thou admonishing yourself by mingling with this lowly rabble?!”
I bow lowly to the ground.
“Oh great Caphire, I will be your greatest servant. Look around you! These creatures do not deserve to be the servants of a scaly king!”

Then I got a critical success on my charisma check.

Caphire, fueled by arrogance and vanity, completely burns the other Gnolls in the room, and Kehr let out a pent-up breath.
“Oh Caphire, thou art powerful beyond my very mind! But…I have heard from a cowardly fool that thee hast a weakness. Doubtless, this is a cruel trick of some sort, but I ask nonetheless, for I have heard that if a noble dragon were to lie, it would rip the very flame from their throat.”
Then I rolled yet another critical success on my charisma check.
And then we ended the session!
